Admission Requirements

• Graduate standing at Kent State University
• Minimum 3.000 GPA on a 4.000-point scale
• Writing sample that demonstrates research skills
• Latin proficiency demonstrated through transcripts or placement tests if planning to take Latin (LAT) courses for the minor

Program Learning Outcomes

Graduates of this program will be able to:

1. Engage in effective research using online and/or physical resources for classical studies.
2. Identify the significance of major literary works, historical figures, artistic and archaeological remains and cultural structures.
3. Demonstrate understanding of key concepts, theories and/or methodologies in the field of classics.
4. Design and implement an independent research project pertaining to classical studies.
