About This Program
The Design minor complements a variety of majors by offering students a broad foundation in design principles, processes, and applications. Students learn to approach challenges by solving problems through the lens of design, applying creative and analytical thinking to a range of contexts. Coursework in typography, imagery, form, and context fosters the ability to communicate across diverse media. Students gain knowledge of design theory, history, and ethics, equipping them with critical frameworks for understanding visual culture and making thoughtful, responsible design decisions.
